Choosing between Travel or Education sounds crazy right? But how do you explain Travel to someone who hasn't experienced it?
You know that feeling.
You're standing somewhere you've never been. Maybe it's a cliff in Spiti. Maybe between the forest, Maybe it's a beach in Krabi at 6am when nobody's awake and you feel the calm in the waves
Something Changes, not really in the place but, IN YOU
The voice in your head, the one that's been narrating your life about deadlines, rent, that message you haven't replied to, the awkward thing you said in a meeting three days ago. But in that moment, you think: whats the point? Does any of it really matter? These things you carry constantly like a backpack you forgot you were wearing, because you never took it off.
And now, standing here, the backpack is gone. And you feel light.
That feeling is the reason people travel. Not the photos. Not the passport stamps. Not the Instagram carousel. Those are receipts. The real thing is what happens inside you in that moment when the noise stops and you meet a version of yourself you forgot existed.
You learn more about yourself in that moment than you might have in the last few months running around and working, because when is the time to process otherwise?
Its just you, there, feeling alive because you're now in the present, noticing the beauty of the world that keeps you here, not in the thoughts of past or fears of the future.
Try explaining that to someone who's never felt it. You can't. It's like describing colour to someone who's only seen black and white. You end up sounding cliché, saying things like "it changed me" and "you just had to be there," and the other person nods politely and goes back to their phone.
But you know. And once you know, it stays with you, like a feeling that doesn't get old with time. It's like Inventing yourself.
