Into the Hills: Khonoma Calls
Welcome to Nagaland, the Land of Festivals! Arrive at Dimapur Airport, where the ChaloHoppo team will receive you before beginning your journey into the Naga Hills. The drive to Khonoma takes around 3 hours, gradually leaving the plains behind as the landscape shifts into forested hills and winding roads. On arrival, settle into your homestay and take time to ease into the pace of village life. Known as Asia’s First Green Village, Khonoma welcomes you with its quiet charm, terraced farms, and eco-conscious way of life. The evening is unhurried. Enjoy a home-cooked Angami meal and get to know your hosts.

General Information
- The trip starts at Dimapur Airport on Day 1 and ends at Dimapur Airport on Day 8.
- Participants are required to arrive at Dimapur Airport by 12:30 PM on Day 1.
- Return flights can be booked anytime after 12:00 PM on Day 8.
- Dimapur Airport is the only designated pick-up and drop-off point.
Accommodation
- Simple homestays in Khonoma, Dzuleke, Jakhama, and Kohima.
- Dormitory and washrooms at Dzukou Valley are basic.
- A-Frame Cabins in Jakhama are not washroom attached.
Food
- Vegetarian and non-vegetarian options available.
- Local delicacies such as silkworms, mithun, snails, and frogs can be explored.
Cash and Payments
- Carrying around ₹1000 per day is recommended for personal expenses.
- UPI is available in Dimapur, Jakhama, and Kohima.
