Into the Hills: Khonoma Calls
Welcome to Nagaland, the Land of Festivals! Arrive at Dimapur Airport, where the ChaloHoppo team will receive you before beginning your journey into the Naga Hills. The drive to Khonoma takes around 3 hours, gradually leaving the plains behind as the landscape shifts into forested hills and winding roads. On arrival, settle into your homestay and take time to ease into the pace of village life. Known as Asia’s First Green Village, Khonoma welcomes you with its quiet charm, terraced farms, and eco-conscious way of life. The evening is unhurried. Enjoy a home-cooked Angami meal and get to know your hosts.

- Rooms are shared on a double-sharing basis. In case you are a solo traveller, you will be paired up with another solo traveller of the same gender.
- Vegetarian meals typically include rice, dal, mixed vegetables, salads, and local chutneys. For non-vegetarian options, chicken or pork is usually served, depending on availability and group preference.
- While most of your expenses are covered in the trip cost, carrying around ₹1000 per day should be sufficient for personal expenses.
- Airtel and Jio work best in this region. However, network connectivity may be limited in areas like Khonoma and Dzuleke, and there is no network coverage in Dzükou Valley.
- This trip is suitable for travellers with moderate fitness levels, but it does include one physically demanding day during the Dzükou Valley trek.
- Each day’s activities will be accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide who will provide insights into the culture, history, and natural wonders of the region.
